I can't tell you exactly when Groove Armada decided that they were going to make really awesome vintage-sounding synth pop, but man am I glad they did. "
Paper Romance" has a great throwback 80s sound, thanks in part to contributions from vocalist
Saint Saviour and UK band
Fenech Soler. Really melodramatic vocals match up with analog synths and guitars that sound like they might have ripped them from U2's
Joshua Tree album to make an excellent bit of dark synth pop. As for the remixes,
Doorly turns it into a weird, glitchy, lurching dance track, while
Zomby Disco Squad put their signature minimal sound on the track. Finally,
Urchins turn it into the dance pop anthem it always wanted to be in the first place. Recommended.
